Literature

Here is some recommended reading for the CB 750 SOHC/4. This list is by no means complete, many good books are still not listed here.

Workshop manuals

Haynes

Recommended. I would prefer this to the Clymer manual.

Honda

The original source. Highly recommended. Several Honda manuals can be downloaded from Honda4Fun.

Others

CB 750 - Die Geschichte einer Legende

CB 750: 4 cylindres qui ont révolutionné la moto

CB 750: 4 cylindres qui ont révolutionné la moto by Eric Breton. A very well written book that also covers the spirit and the vibes of the CB 750 and her time. Huge section on endurance racing. Even if you don't understand French, this book is worth buying. In French only. 208 pages. ISBN 2-907-50187-3

Post War Independent Motorcycle Framemakers

Post War Independent Motorcycle Framemakers by Keith Noakes. Covers 15 frame makers from Nico Bakker to Spondon Engineering. Out of print. 144 pages. ISBN 1-85532-531-4

Die Steuerung des Gaswechsels in schnellaufenden Verbrennungsmotoren

Die Steuerung des Gaswechsels in schnellaufenden Verbrennungsmotoren by Wolf-Dieter Bensinger. Very theoretical book hat covers in depth the various aspects of camshafts and valve train. Bensinger laid down a mathematical model for creating cam profiles. Out of print. German only. No ISBN - my copy was published in 1968.

Wege zum Hochleistungs-Viertaktmotor

Wege zum Hochleistungs-Viertaktmotor by Ludwig Apfelbeck. Apfelbeck covers all the basics in engine construction while the reader always feels that he was a man of practice. His book is written very much in favor of the radial four valve cylinder head named after him, but that aside, it is a highly recommeded book if you are interested in the theory of high performance four stroke engines and their application. German only. ISBN 3-87943-578-2

Motorcycle Turbocharging, Supercharging & Nitrous Oxide

Motorcycle Turbocharging, Supercharging & Nitrous Oxide by Joe Haile covers not only turbo, superchargers and N20 but all methods and aspects of forced induction as ram air induction, carburation (blow through vs. draw through), fuel injection, detonation control, water/alcohol injection etc. Recommended if you plan to do anything of the above, or if you are just interested in the subject. ISBN 1-884313-07-8

Colin Seeley: Racer and the rest

The first volume of Colin Seeley's autobiography is packed with race stories, anecdotes and memories of race and business friends. There are certainly not many framebuilders who have had such a life and have that much to tell, and Colin's writing style certainly complement his racing and framebuilding skills. 281 pages, packed with pictures, and this is just the first of two volumes, covering the years up to 1969. A book written with passion, and edited with love. Both Colin Seeley and Redline Books did a marvellous job - this is not a book, this is a piece of art. ISBN 0-9544357-1-0
